Changed how I think about reinvention

I didn't expect Thor: Ragnarok to affect me so deeply. The way Taika Waititi handles the truth about Asgard's history is unlike anything I'd seen before. I came out of it looking at the world differently.

Watched it blind and was blown away

I went into Thor: Ragnarok knowing nothing — no trailer, no plot summary. I strongly recommend that approach. The reinvention hits much harder when you haven't been primed for it. Go in cold.

Stayed with me for weeks

Thor: Ragnarok ended and I sat with it for weeks. The home is not a place theme kept circling back. I'd be doing something mundane and "He's a friend from work" would pop into my head. That kind of resonance is rare.

Better on second watch

I liked Thor: Ragnarok when I first saw it, but the second viewing is where it clicked. Once you notice how Taika Waititi plants every detail early on, the whole film transforms. Layers everywhere.

The ending is divisive for a reason

Thor: Ragnarok commits to a conclusion that not everyone will appreciate. I found it perfectly right — it refuses easy comfort. If you want tidy resolution you may be frustrated. If you want truth, it delivers.

Overrated but still very good

Thor: Ragnarok has been praised so heavily that no film could live up completely. It's an excellent film — Taika Waititi's comedic reinvention of Thor is genuinely remarkable — but it's not the untouchable masterpiece some claim.
