Some dips but overall a classic

Game of Thrones has a few uneven episodes across its run but the high points are some of the best television ever made. The Rains of Castamere alone is worth the subscription. power and its costs is explored in genuinely surprising ways.

The acting is what makes it

Daenerys Targaryen is played with incredible subtlety. You believe every choice they make even when those choices are catastrophic. the unpredictable willingness to kill major characters is a big reason this show rose above its peers.

Binge-watched the whole thing in a week

I started Game of Thrones thinking I'd watch an episode or two. Three sleepless nights later I'd finished the entire run. the spectacular production scale is just unmatched. Daenerys Targaryen is one of the great characters in TV history.

A bit overhyped but still very good

Game of Thrones lives up to maybe 80% of the hype. the spectacular production scale is genuinely excellent. The betrayal element is well done. My only complaint is that things drag slightly in the middle. Still four stars.

Changed how I think about television drama

Game of Thrones showed me what television can do. The betrayal storyline is handled with more intelligence than most films. the spectacular production scale elevates the whole thing. Required viewing for anyone who cares about storytelling.

Slow start but rewards patience

Game of Thrones takes a few episodes to find its feet. By the time you reach Hardhome, you understand what the show is going for. David Benioff and D.B. Weiss has a long game in mind and it pays off beautifully.

Rewatchable from the very first episode

Knowing how Game of Thrones ends makes the early episodes even more rewarding. David Benioff and D.B. Weiss plants seeds so subtly you don't notice them until the second watch. Cersei Lannister's journey hits harder when you know where it leads.
