One of the decade's defining shows
Peaky Blinders will be talked about in TV history discussions for decades. The way it handles power and family loyalty is mature, nuanced, and unflinching. Polly Gray is one of the most complex characters ever written for television.

Good but not the greatest ever
Peaky Blinders is excellent television but I wouldn't rank it as the all-time greatest. the atmospheric cinematography is legitimately fantastic but some middle episodes lose momentum. Worth watching absolutely, just with tempered expectations.

The finale actually delivered
So many shows fail their endings. Peaky Blinders stuck the landing. The final episode resolves Polly Gray's arc in a way that feels both surprising and inevitable. Steven Knight clearly knew where this was going from episode one.

Genuinely difficult to watch at times — in a good way
Peaky Blinders doesn't let you off the hook. the atmospheric cinematography is genuinely uncomfortable in ways few shows dare to be. It respects the audience's intelligence. Season 4 Finale is just astonishing television.

Slow start but rewards patience
Peaky Blinders takes a few episodes to find its feet. By the time you reach Season 5 Finale, you understand what the show is going for. Steven Knight has a long game in mind and it pays off beautifully.

A bit overhyped but still very good
Peaky Blinders lives up to maybe 80% of the hype. Cillian Murphy's magnetic intensity is genuinely excellent. The the working class rise element is well done. My only complaint is that things drag slightly in the middle. Still four stars.

Rewatchable from the very first episode
Knowing how Peaky Blinders ends makes the early episodes even more rewarding. Steven Knight plants seeds so subtly you don't notice them until the second watch. Arthur Shelby's journey hits harder when you know where it leads.

The writing is extraordinary
Every line of dialogue in Peaky Blinders has purpose. Steven Knight and the writers' room craft scenes where subtext carries more weight than text. The episode Season 4 Finale is one of the best hours of television I've ever seen.
